We are staying at Black Rock with our toddler for the first time and decided to try this restaurant. We got the scallops as an appetizer and let me tell you , it was delicious and that sauce, so good. For mains we got the duck and chicken and both were very yummy and the veggies and sauce paired well with the dishes. Since we were celebrating our anniversary they gave us complimentary bubbles (me a yummy red fruity drink since I was pregnant) and also since we were celebrating my birthday a complimentary dessert in which we got the tart . And everything about it was great. The staff was amazing and especially so with our son and the food along with the view were incredible. Will definitely be coming back.
Overall, food and service are great. Seems like a low-end fine dining. Food comes our relatively quick. We had the salad & chicken & halibut. Halibut zero issues. However, the chicken is quite salty - if you would order the chicken, I'd recommend either no salt or definitely ask for less.
The seafood chowder is an absolute must have. Best I have ever had. The seafood was so fresh and the dish rich. The risotto was yummy as was the steak. Highly recommend! Make reservations in advance. The whales showing up during dinner was an added bonus!!
First day here at Ucluelet and dining at Currents made the experience even better :). Chris was absolutely wonderful. Attentive, easy going, engaging and great sense of humour. View was spectacular! All the guests were constantly looking at the horizon, hoping for the next whale. We got the two course meal with wine pairing and it is definitely more filling than it looks. We especially enjoyed the clams pairing with rose! Sauces and flavoring were so well done!
fancy and super nice restaurant with beautiful views!! “The shelf” meal for breakfast is THE BEST!! its super filling with a variety of nutrients and well balanced food!! it comes with a chia pudding which was sooo good!! and it was only 18 perfect price!!!
Love it when you go somewhere unplanned and have an amazing food experience. We loved our server and the food was next level. We had steak and the grilled chicken sandwich with soup. Try to come for a sunset! Enjoy!
Had a wonderful dinner at Currents. Very beautiful location with great service and food. The presentations were well thought out, which gets you excited to try the dishes. My husband and I shared a few appetizers and a main. The tomatoes, scallops and salmon were all wonderful. The only complaint is we found 4 bones in the salmon, which shouldn’t be happening in a nice restaurant. Overall though, it was a wonderful experience.
The restaurant patio facing the ocean is soooooooo gorgeous!!!! The food we ordered was also very delicious - fish & chips, dry rubbed wings, steak sandwich & scallop sandwich.
